  1. The Damaruga or Drum or the Deer in the right outstretched hand of Shiva represents Srishti or creation.
  2. The second right hand Pataka with palm away and fingers up kept in front of the right shoulder represents Sthithi or preservation.
  3. The fire or Agni in the first left hand of Shiva represents destruction or Samhar.
  4. The peaceful figure of Lord Shiva or Shanta Murthy is standing on the right leg, trampling the dwarf demon Muyalagan in a six pointed star-the six points being

(a)   the first right hand holding the drum

(b)   the first left hand holding the fire and

(c)  the right foot placed on the demon Muyalagan. The whole figure giving rise to the 6 pointed star forming the ‘Sri Chakra’ which represents ‘Maya’ or Illusion.

(d)  The top point of the triangle showing the tip of Shiva’s  Crown.

(e)  The lifted left foot on the right side and

(f)   The Scarf of the waist on the left side.
