Someone has said “To see the Almighty in the grain of sand and also in the vast universe is real wisdom.” This statement is absolutely true because although science tells us about the cosmic movement in the grain of sand, in an atom, in a molecule and in the vast universe, science does not tell us how all these activities are brought about and by whom.

What happens if these movements suddenly stop? Collapse and utter chaos and catastrophe! It is but natural that great scientists like Einstein and others believed in the Omni presence of a Force which rules the universe – call this Force “God”, “Almighty” or “Supreme Nature”. Nothing in this world is motionless. The table or a chair may look inert, but every molecule and atom in this is a rhythmic motion. All these, starting from the electrons, atoms, molecules etc. to the galaxies rotate in a certain manner created by some force or power or natural phenomenon or by the Almighty. It is the Almighty who moves and causes this universal activity – in other words this is His cosmic dance.

His actions are creation, preservation and destruction. Because in this unlimited universe, there is creation, there is preservation and there is destruction. Stars are created and preserved and then destroyed, the three activities of Lord Shiva. Srishti: (Creation), Sthiti (Preservation) and Samhara (Destruction). The other two activities are Tirobhava (Illusion) and Anugraha (Salvation). The five actions are the Pancha Kriy-s of Shiva.
