The theme given to the audience well in advance keeps them in anticipation and when the eager anticipation is fulfilled, there is a general aesthetic delight. India is a land of rich music and musical instruments, yet co-operation effort is necessary. When once these obstacles are overcome and a great dance drama is produced in India, then even lay audience in our country open their eyes to the rich variety that is ever present at our disposal.

Dance-dramas can therefore be real eye-openers and means of exposing the creative ability of a great artist. The bright side of the progress of Bharata Natyam and other classical styles is indeed very encouraging and heart-warming. These classical Indian dances have now spread all over the world and it is no exaggeration to say that practically every big city in the West has at least two or three Bharata Natyam dancers and teachers. Many foreigners have learnt Bharata Natya from well-known teachers and these dancers have started propagating Indian art in their own countries. This progress is because of the tremendous exotic impact of our Indian dances on the Western youth who find in this art a means for their self expression. Many of these students come to India well-prepared with

Hindu religion,  mythology and philosophy and learn this art from prominent teachers and go back home artistically satisfied and full of confidence to present the dances in their home countries. Apart from these, many Indian danseuses who have gone abroad and settled down in these countries practise and teach this art to the local students thus propagating our art. Of course in this vast exodus of Indian danseuses there are good, bad and indifferent danseuses.
