8. Sieve: A sieve retains only the dirty and dregs allowing the clear water to go through. Similarly some people are adept in retaining the dirt or bad things in art leaving all the other beautiful aspects of the art to pass through.

Hence, the appreciation should be like the swan, the cow and the earth.

Conclusion :

The main purpose of all arts in to give pleasure to the senses. To achieve this end, the creator of any art has to conceive and create a thing of beauty, which in turn gives pleasure. Beauty may be of many types and kinds and it can even be relative. Things that appear beautiful of one set of people
may appear to be drab and uninteresting to another set of people.

Any artist of good merit bases all his works on some fundamental factors, which govern his works. To appreciate these works of art, the seer must have a basic knowledge of concepts that are responsible for the artistic creations. In short, the meaning of any creative art will be clear to the spectator only after the understanding of the artist's creative instinct. Even for the appreciation, the spectator has to equate his personality with that of the artist. If not, even the greatest works of art may fall flat on the eyes of the spectators. For the understanding of any dance creation, we must first get into the background of the dancer and the idea the dancer is conveying to the public. A creative dancer builds up his creations on definite principles such as, his cultural background, the insight into religion, mythology, even his language, his educational set-up, his moral basis and last but not least, his creative instinct and his individuality.
