Appreciation And Criticism Of Any Art 

Science, engineering, medical science, social science and philosophy are all definite fields of study. To appreciate and write critical reviews on these subjects, the critic needs to know these subjects very well. But to write a critical review of art of any kind, the critic must posses the deep knowledge and thorough grasp of any art. Sadly it is not so in practice. 

Art has become the property of all and it looks as if anyone who has a fleeting knowledge of art can write reviews and art criticism. But, there are a few art critics in India who possess knowledge and they review the art after a thorough study of the art and their reviews have authority and dignity. Though good criticisms are necessary for the development of art, the great artists in any country are beyond criticism as they are not perturbed by the criticism good or bad. To them, the critical reviews are like the words written on the sands of a seashore, when a wave will wipe the same in no time. 

Neither praise nor abuse affects them because they are above such reactions. Great artists are dedicated to the art and such artists get spontaneous appreciation and genuine kudos. There is in old saying in which appreciation and review are described in a graphic way from the highest form of appreciation to the lowest.
