Criticism is no doubt good for the improvement of art, but it must be tempered with reasonableness, understanding and encouragement of the good art.
A famous critic has laid down certain principles for art criticism which we may well take note of her.
According to him (1) criticism should be written only on those who are worth criticizing. The unimportant and inartistic performances should be merely ignored. Attempts to extol alive such performances give added publicity to the artistes who should be ignored in the interests of art; |
