by the village priest, join and dance together in a very long line, boys and girls alternating. This line winds itself into a zig-zag manner or in a circle-in fact, in every conceivable manner and the boys and girls dance in exact stipulated dance movements quickly and in regulated manner in accordance with the rhythm which accompanies it.
The Mandri, the fourth, is a popular dance performed by boys carrying the drums and along with them the girls also dance in a corner. The boys enter the dancing ground, full of exuberance, followed by the girls, but the girls move aside giving place to the boys who, play the drums and at the same time dance skillfully, acrobatically, exhibiting their artistic skills to a great extent.
These Muria dances are always a treat to watch as they are unique.
