The main singer plays the Kamsale and dances ecstatically playing the cymbals and others follow suit. The songs are usually in praise of the greatness of Madeshwara. The dancers wear ordinary dress but their foreheads are adorned with 'vibhuti' or sacred ash. They smear their eye brows and necks also with this ash. They wear 'rudrakshi' garland on their necks and hold a stick in their hands as the insignia of Mahadeshwara.

Goravara Kunita:
This dance is a soul-stirring sight performed by a clan called 'Gorava-s', the devotees of 'Mailara-Linga' who sing and dance uttering 'ughe-ughe' in praise of their Deity 'Elu Koti Mailara Linga'. Wearing a black rug, a waist coat, a cap made of bear's skin, wearing a garland of small conch shells, having a mark of 'Mailara Linga' on their forehead, these people dance singing and playing a drum in one hand (Damaruga) and a short flute in the other - praising the prowess of Mailara Linga.

Bolakkat :
This is probably one of the most spectacular dances danced by the men folk of Coorg to exhibit their bravery. Wearing their national costume of a black long coat, typical Coorgi turban and dhoti, wearing a waist band or a 'cumbarband' in which a dagger is

fixed as a symbol of fighting men, these strong sturdy men sing and dance to the intricate rhythm of the drums which are played with short sticks in the right hand and with fingers of the left hands. This dance group displays a dagger in one hand and a 'chamara' in the other and clapping with their hands they jump, twist, turn and sing and dance praising the birth of Kaveri amma, the life-source of their land or Coorg.
