They again start singing and dancing in the opposite direction unwinding the ribbons in the process. To perform this dance, the dancers need a lot of practice so that the pattern of the ribbons is beautifully knitted. There is usually Nagaswara music to accompany the singing of the girls. A month before the car festival, the girls go to different house in the township to collect money and materials for the festival.

On the day of the festival, they have an early morning bath and follow the temple chariot singing and dancing and this is a very pleasing sight.

Suggi Kunita or Harvest dance:
This is a very popular, well-known group dance performed in the summer time and during moon-lit nights by the villagers when they are joyous after a full harvest. There is generally a circular or separate area plastered with cow dung in front of a Hanuman temple or any other village temple. In this area, the person who plays the drum 'Tamate' - a kind of one-sided percussion instrument, gives a clarion call to the villagers for the "suggi kunita". (suggi is harvest, kunita is dance).

All the men around carry their jingle bells and assemble at this spot. The leader of this dance, who is accepted as an expert dancer, starts the word 'Suyyo Sai' and the others follow him uttering these words and the other musicians accompany the general song.
