They again start singing and dancing in the opposite direction unwinding the ribbons in the process. To perform this dance, the dancers need a lot of practice so that the pattern of the ribbons is beautifully knitted. There is usually Nagaswara music to accompany the singing of the girls. A month before the car festival, the girls go to different house in the township to collect money and materials for the festival.

Suggi Kunita or Harvest dance:
This is a very popular, well-known group dance performed in the summer time and during moon-lit nights by the villagers when they are joyous after a full harvest. There is generally a circular or separate area plastered with cow dung in front of a Hanuman temple or any other village temple. In this area, the person who plays the drum 'Tamate' - a kind of one-sided percussion instrument, gives a clarion call to the villagers for the "suggi kunita". (suggi is harvest, kunita is dance).
