Himachal Pradesh:

Living in the midst of lofty mountains of the Himalayan ranges, these hardy tough people live a life of constant struggle, but they are always happy and enjoy themselves in song and dance which are their only recreation. They conduct many Mela-s or fairs in which people take part to rejoice and dance.

Dangi:
A dance performed by women of Chamba valley. They stand in a circle, linking arms and perform simple dance steps to the accompaniment of the song called Ghurchi which is replete with questions and answers. Usually it depicts the love story of a Raja and a Harijan girl. The dance starts in a slow tempo but ends in a lively exciting crescendo.

Deepak:
Performed by the Gaddi shepherds of 'Chamba' and 'Kangra' valleys. They stand in a circle, link arms, sing a song called 'Chinjoti' and dance sideways. Usually the accompaniment is by the 'Dhol' and 'Narsinga' players who stand outside the circles.

Jhanjar:
Also performed in the Chamba valley by women and men together. The women form a small circle and the men a bigger outer circle. Their movements are simple, moving forward and backward making the circles small and big. As usual, the tempo increases towards the end.
