Ustad Zakir Hussain - Tabla 
Zakir Hussain is recognized as one the most brilliant Tabla players today. Son of the great Ustad Alla Rahka, Zakir's background is impeccable. His thorough knowledge of both Northern and Southern Traditions has made him one of the few musician to bridge the gap between the two traditions. Ustad Hussain is easily the most sought after accompanist of our time. In 1988 he was awarded the "Padma Shri" by the President of India.

 


L. Shankar - Carnatic Violin 
L. Shankar is an acknowledge virtuoso of the violin. Born into a renowned family of musicians, he is the son and disciple of the esteemed V. Lakshminarayana.

As a soloist and collaborator with such performers as tabla master Zakir Hussain and Vikku Vinayakram, he has been at the forefront in expanding the horizons of Indian music throughout the world. He has received numerous awards including Best Violinist Award from the Madras Music Academy in 1982.
