4 is a comedy produced by Rakesh Roshan's Filmkraft but directed
by his assistant Jaideep Sen. The movie doesn't boast of a strong
star cast but features 3 item numbers that forms the major attraction.
One of it is performed by Bollywood's sex symbol Rakhi Sawant
and the other two by superstars Hrithik Roshan and Shah Rukh Khan.
Is Krazzy 4 entertaining? Is it worth a watch?
Before we go any further in discussion, let me first introduce
you to the story.
Krazzy
4 is about a psychiatric, Dr Sonali played by Juhi Chawla, who
is treating four patients with unique problems - a temper freak
(Arshad Warsi), a doctor with personality disorder (Irrfan Khan),
a man who still lives in the pre-Independence period (Rajpal Yadav)
and a guy who has not spoken for years (Suresh Menon).
Dr Sonali (Juhi Chawla) treats the Krazzy 4 in a mental hospital.
She believes with a bit of patience and time the four can be a
part of the society. But all hell breaks loose when, on the way
to watch a cricket match, Dr Sonali is kidnapped and the Krazzy
4 are let loose. What do the Krazzy 4 end up doing? Where to they
land themselves? What happens to them next? Forms the remaining
part of the story.
Krazzy
4 is a situational comedy, not an out and out comedy flick as
most believe. The major problem with Krazzy 4 is the script. The
first half is enjoyable, but it's the second half that disappoints.
The climax isn't convincing either. A lot of cinematic liberties
have been taken especially in the second half, which tends to
take the impact away. After watching the movie, although you leave
the theatre with a smile, you do feel a great opportunity has
gone wasted; the movie seemed to have so much potential. Jaideep
Sen has directed the movie well enough; some sequences have been
executed very well. Break free stands out, but Rajesh Roshan wouldn't
be credited for it. The background score and cinematography is
good. Dialogues are great.
Coming to the performances, Rajpal Yadav stands out with a great
performance. Arshad Warsi as the angry young man is good. Irrfan
Khan in a limited role is fantastic. Suresh Memon has very few
dialogues, does well in expressing through and his eyes and face.
Juhi Chawla does well. Dia Mirza looks good, acts well.
Overall, Krazzy 4 is worth a watch in theatre. It's not great,
but not bad either. Give it a try. The item numbers by Hrithik
(mind-blowing) and SRK would be a treat for Bollywood movie fans.
