Treatment
This condition is not life-threatening. A consultation with a speech therapist may help you look at what may be causing these symptoms. Exercises to release tension in your laryngeal muscles may be necessary.
The other cause of globus is acid reflux which can be treated with antacids.
Breathing in and out of a paper bag fitted tightly around the nose and mouth will alleviate the symptoms brought on by hyperventilation.
Unless a physical cause is found, treatment is usually by reassurance, breath control training and in some instances, psychological treatment.

HAYFEVER
Hayfever is an allergy to pollen released by grasses, flowers and trees in spring and summer. The pollen causes cells to release histamine and other chemicals, resulting in a runny, itchy nose, blocked sinuses, sneezing, redness, prickling and watering of eyes and/or a sore, itchy throat and sometimes, asthma.
